Intermodal, largest in the Americas and strategic for the market

Intermodal South America is the largest and most important event in the Americas for the transport, logistics and international trade sectors. Next year’s event – the 16th Intermodal South America – will be held on April 6–8, 2010 at the Transamérica Expo Center, in São Paulo, and is of strategic importance for a market that is already on the way back to its pre-crisis levels. The 450 exhibitors will be prepared for an expected 45,000 visitors.

Following the financial crisis that began in September 2008, the world’s economy is showing signs of recovery. While the keynote in 2009 was: “Steer business clear of the storm”, the aim for 2010 is definitely something more than just “Keep the ball in the air”.

In October, Finance Minister Guido Mantega reaffirmed that Brazil expects GDP growth of 1% in 2009, and up to 5% in 2010.

As a means of achieving this, the search for new solutions, and increased and improved networking, become even more important. Indeed, the fact that the crisis affected Brazil less seriously than other countries owes much to the competence of companies that sought alternatives by adapting their operations, for example, to different demands from their domestic and foreign markets.

Hence the importance of Intermodal, which, through the exchange of experience provided by its content programme, and by its ability to expand a company’s network of contacts, provides both exhibitors and visitors with new ways forward, new partnerships – and new business.
